The National Testing Agency (NTA) has taken a major decision regarding the NEET (UG) 2026 examination. Following a high-level review, the agency has officially announced the cancellation of the exam conducted on May 3, 2026.
Reason for Cancellation
Based on investigative findings shared by law enforcement agencies and inputs examined in coordination with central agencies, the NTA decided that the current examination process could not be allowed to stand. To ensure transparency in the system and protect the interests of students, the Government of India approved the cancellation.
CBI Inquiry Ordered
The Government of India has decided to refer the entire matter to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for a comprehensive inquiry into the allegations of irregularities. The NTA has pledged full cooperation to the Bureau, providing all necessary records and assistance for the investigation.
Re-Examination (Re-Exam) Details
- New Dates: A re-conduct of the examination has been decided, and the specific dates will be notified separately.
- Admit Cards: The schedule for re-issued admit cards will be communicated through official channels in the coming days.
